Under Elizabeth’s leadership Burnsville ranks very high in Citizen Satisfaction and crime rates have declined.  The Burnsville Fire Department has achieved the highest recognition possible for its Fire and Ambulance protection policies.

In Burnsville, serious crime is down 30% and less serious crime is down 15% since 1995. Public Safety is a top priority and a four person Traffic Unit was authorized in 2002 and thus, traffic related injuries and speeding have both been reduced.  The ‘Keep It ToThe Limit Campaign” is a great success.  A three member Street Crimes unit authorized in 2006 has already had a measurable impact on drug related crimes and other criminal activities requiring a more intense undercover approach.  Burnsville’s full time Fire Department and ambulance service continue to provide service unequaled by other cities.  Our crews will be there faster and, as paramedics, they know what to do when they get to you!
