Burnsville at its Best!
Dear Burnsville Citizens I am asking for your vote in the General Election, on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. Why, should you continue to support me? It is because, we continue to be in a strong financial position. Since taking office we have improved our Bond/Credit rating twice, we now have a strong AAA rating. Our debt has been reduced over 50% while we continue to reconstruct and repair our roads and pay for them as we go. We had put in place an Infrastructure Trust Fund to help with paying for our road reconstructions. Our City is safe, since 1995 we have reduced our crime rate by 36.69%. Our parks, ice center, golf course and performing arts center is enriching the lives of our families and driving traffic to our businesses. Burnsville is a great City to live, work and raise a family. Our businesses and residents say Burnsville is headed in the right direction. I am devoted to Burnsville and work tirelessly for the people and businesses of Burnsville.
Burnsville’s demographics are aging, diversified, and our product value has matured and we need to focus on improvement. We will continue to work with property owners to insure compliance with property maintenance. We need to work with our school district to insure improvements in our graduation rates and therefore, a high quality work force for our businesses. We will continue to work with our businesses to expand in our City and invite businesses leaders to visit our City and consider our City for their next manufacturing. Continue to partner and work with businesses, other cities, non-profits, faith communities to solve the social issues of our community, such as helping our children to succeed in school. We will continue to keep our City safe and insure emergency medical services to our residents.
Every year we right size our operations and have made cuts to service and have used technology to help with efficiency and cost effective solutions. We continue to look at areas where we can save and to evaluate projects that will give us a great return on our investments. We will focus on energy conservation solutions, more efficient equipment and solutions. We will continue to evaluate service delivery in all areas. Burnsville was 55,000 people in 1995 and today we are 61,000 with the same number of people delivering service to a community that is now built out. Burnsville was about 95% build in 1995. We have always kept our citizens in mind to insure that they get great value for their tax dollars.
I am a collaborative, caring and fiscally reasonable leader, who is always focused on the long term good of Burnsville. I make good business decisions rather than stand on ideological positions. The paradigms have shifted and we now find ourselves in a new global economy that requires using all of our experiences, network, and relationships to help us compete to retain, expand and attract businesses to our City, so our people can have a job and live self-sustaining lives. Please vote for me, Elizabeth B. Kautz on General Election Day, Tuesday, Novermber 6th. Thank you.
